- Living Life -

Life is not a race - but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy. Say "thank you", "I love you", and "great job" to someone each day. Go to church, take time for prayer. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Love your life and what you've been given, it is not accidental - search for your purpose and do it as best as you can. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to be. Laugh often. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming. Forgive, it frees the soul. Take time for yourself - plan for longevity. Recognize the special people you've been blessed to know. Live for today, enjoy the moment.

.:: Shopping, Disney, Elves....Oh my! 11.15::.

I have a confession to make. I have been indulging in a little "retail therapy." Some may say that it doesn't work, but I beg to differ! Honestly, it has been awhile since I have bought anything for myself, really it has! Most of all my spending has been on others, mostly on the kiddos. I am not meaning to be frivolous or careless with my spending, but it really has helped me feel better during this challenging time. It doesn't help that the temptations are everywhere from the magazines to tv and even online to window shopping. Its all over the place!! And it's not just clothes or shoes that temp my debit card either! Hand bags, perfume, make-up, electronics, and furniture are all pleading to go home with me. They know i'll take care of them and will thoroughly enjoy them! Sales and coupons don't help either! I love walking out of a store knowing that I just purchased items at a fraction of the cost. I guess you can say that I am just trying to do my part to help the economy. But I think I will manage to get myself under control, I just felt the need to unburden myself with this confession. If I cant control myself, I think the motto is take it one day at a time.
I do want to share my latest find! I usually stay up to date when it comes to little girls fashion. Here is the neatest accessory I've stumbled upon during one of my sessions of "retail therapy!" Who ever thought of this was just brilliant!

I love this! There are interchangeable parts (flower petals & bottle caps) that allow you to mix and match to create a look that you want! Not only are they cute, but they are also inexpensive!! For the whole flower, pictured above, I paid a total of less then 8 bucks! What a great buy! I've paid $14 bucks for a flower once before, never will I make that mistake again!!
I also just wanted to mention that I got the best buy ever at Express Men. I purchased 2 pairs of dressy pants that were originally 60 bucks a pop for $30. They were $30 off! I also a got a casual shirt that was originally $30 for less then $18. And on top of that I had a coupon for $30 off a $75 purchase. So I walked out of there with 3 items that originally was $150, but paid less then $50! I love a great buy! So although it may seem that I am out of control when it comes to spending, I really am not! I tend to wait for things to go on sale or wait until I have a coupon!
.: Disney on Ice :.
Although the theme was Princess Classics, I decided that it would be fun for Talon no matter what was being performed! Everywhere you'd look there were little girls dressed up in their favorite princess costumes! It was really cute! Talon hasn't watched most of the Disney movies so I was afraid that he would not enjoy it and know what was goin on! He did surprise me by yelling out Ariel when she came out! Not once did I consider taking Tatum, not after the circus! But I cant wait to go again and dress her up when she gets a bit older!

We saw Jasmin & Aladdin,

Aurora,

Ariel,

Snow White,
Mulan, Belle, and Cinderella!
Unfortunately my camera died! So I only got a few pics!

Talon and I got cotton candy and it came with a PRINCE crown at the show! He's never had it before so watching him inhale it was hilarious!

.: Sophie the Elf :.
Ever wondered how Santa knew who was naughty or who was nice? With the help of one of the elves, of course! The elf's responsibility was to watch the children and report back to Santa each night and return the next morning in a different location! Fun, huh?
I'm so excited to add this to our Christmas traditions! It seriously is so cute! Talon decided to name the elf Sophie! Why You ask I dont know! He calls Tatum Sophie sometimes when they are playing! Usually when they are pretending to be dogs! But who knows? Sophie it is though!

.:: HaPpY HaLlOwEeN ::.

October came and gone like a flash! I cant already believe it is November already! Before we know it the new year will be here! Its all coming up fast! I am though proud to say that I am finally caught up with my blog! Wahoo! It has taken me forever to get caught up! Hopefully now I will stay up to date!

For the month of October there was so much I wanted to accomplish, but unfortunately wasn't able to do quite a few off my to do list! This year I didn't even carve pumpkins with my kids or take them to a pumpkin patch. Thank goodness for their grandpa who did both with them! So badly wish I was there with them but again I'm glad they were able to experience both! Another thing I would have liked to have done for Halloween was go to the dinosaur park. It would have been perfect...Talon loves dinosaurs and the fact that they had fun Halloween activities and decor made it so much better! Bummed we didnt go! For sure next year!

For Halloween I unfortunately had to work ( 12hr shift) but during my break Jake and I took the kids to Toys R Us! And we participated in one of their costume parades! It was quite fun! If you couldn't tell by the pics Talon was Peter Pan and Tatum was Tinkerbell, ( a very cute Peter Pan and Tink I might add!)! The kids got to spend time with Geoffrey the giraffe, trick or treat, and play with toys! While we were there we got time to look at fun Christmas ideas!!! ( cant wait for Christmas!!)

I went back to work and later that evening Jake took the kids to the Waldrams. There they played with other kids and went trick or treating. When i got off I met them there and went to Jakes old neighborhood and visited with the trick or treat usuals! And of course had to get yummy pretzels! Each year a lady from Jakes old neighborhood makes pretzels for the trick or treaters and let me tell you they are something! Talon loved it!! We then proceeded by heading home and Talon and mom went trick or treating! Just the two of us! Love having one on one time with each of my kids!! Talon was seriously a hoot! We would knock on the door, and when it'd open the people would just bring the bowl of candy down to his level. He'd point to one and say "I want that one" and grab it! He wouldn't even say trick or treat, I had to remind a few times to say it!! After getting his treat he would turn around and drop his candy in his bag and say "Next house!" Oh it was hilarious and so cute!

.:: CoRnBelLy'S 10.23 ::.

well we finally made it to Cornbelly's and let me tell you it was a lot of fun! I know I say this all the time but there was seriously so much to do there. We arrived just in time for the pig races so we hurried over and watched. Then we headed over and played on the wooden train, which by the way was one of Talon's faves. He loves trains!! We also did the duck races, playground, cow and pumpkin train, and the jumping pillow! We were there for about 2 hours and pretty much covered the whole ground! It was great! Talon was seriously so cute! He is the friendliest little kid, i am sure all kids are like that though! He would make friends with anyone no matter how old they were! I hope he continues to be that way! Well we are moving right along! Thats 2 crossed off my check list so far!!

.:: BaRnYaRd BoO 10.19 ::.

One of the things on my Fall/Winter to do list was to go to Cornbelly's this year since we didnt go the year prior. So I got the kids up, fed, packed them in the car, and headed south! Come to find out they didnt open til 4 later that afternoon. We were seriously so bummed! Although our plans were ruined we were happy to be at Thanksgiving Point! Close by to where we were was Barnyard Boo, a place we've never been but have always wanted to go and check it out! So it actually worked out perfect! There was so much to see and do both Talon and Tatum had a good time! Not only was it fun just to see the diffent varietIes of animals they had but it was also educational. Ever wonder what the animals eat and how much they consume in a day? Or how a baby chick gets out of its shell? Visit Barnyard Boo and you'll find out!
